Treating seizures — and the whole person behind them. Our approach is built on 26 years of clinical
experience, deep attention to mental wellbeing, and a commitment to reducing the social stigma of
epilepsy alongside achieving seizure control.
Years of specialist epilepsy practice — our approach is rooted in real-world clinical observation, personalised to each patient’s syndrome, lifestyle, and psychological profile.
Evidence-based, experience-led, and always person-centred
Anti-seizure medication selection is personalised to epilepsy type, syndrome, age, gender, comorbidities, and —
critically — the patient’s psychological state. We actively avoid agents that can cause or worsen anxiety or depression
in susceptible individuals.
Medication is selected with full consideration of the patient’s psychological profile. Certain anti-seizure medications
can cause or aggravate anxiety, depression, or behavioural changes — we discuss these risks openly and choose the
agent that controls seizures while protecting mental health. Most of our patients are doing well on carefully chosen
medication/s.
We actively screen for and address anxiety, depression, and cognitive effects throughout treatment.
In our experience, approximately 20% of patients with cryptogenic epilepsy experience seizure recurrence after medication withdrawal — even after 5 seizure-free years with a normal EEG. We take this decision with utmost care — counselling every patient on the recurrence risk and its implications for driving, employment, and daily safety.
Over 26 years, the majority of our epilepsy patients achieve good seizure control on carefully personalised medications. Our approach — attentive to mental health, committed to reducing stigma, and grounded in decades of clinical wisdom — reflects our belief that a person with epilepsy deserves not just fewer seizures, but a fuller, freer life

Epilepsy is a condition that affects the brain, causing seizures. These seizures can happen suddenly and without warning, and they vary in severity.
If you experience repeated seizures or any unusual symptoms related to your brain activity, it’s important to consult with Dr. Sreekanth Vemula in Madhapur. Early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent seizures and improve your quality of life.
